WRAZ-TV History Timeline

1994 - CBC assumes operation of WRAZ-TV through a local marketing agreement in December

9/7/1995 - WRAZ-WB50 signs on the air as an independent station, broadcasting as a WB network affiliate from the WRAL-TV studios in Raleigh, NC

1998 - WRAZ-TV launches the FOX 50 Ten O'Clock News

1998 - WRAZ-TV becomes a FOX affiliate, moving its operations to the Diamond View Office Building in downtown Durham, NC

2000 - First Durham Bulls game multicast on FOX 50's SD channel

2000 - WRAZ-TV multicasts its first Durham Bulls AAA baseball game

4/27/2000 - CBC purchases WRAZ-TV

5/1/2000 - FOX 50 Digital signs on

2/10/2002 - FOX 50 airs its first "true HD" event on FOX 50 Digital, NCAA Basketball

11/27/2002 - FOX 50 airs its first HD Hurricanes broadcast

2003 - FOX 50 Digital begins airing HDNet

3/10/2003 - FOX 50 airs its first HD newscast on FOX 50 Digital

9/10/2007 - WRAZ-DT begins airing Retro Network Television and its "Prime Time All the Time" on over-the-air digital channel and Time Warner Digital Cable.

5/14/2008 - NC Spin, the local affairs talk show produced by WRAL-TV and aired on FOX 50, taped its 500th episode. It is the longest running statewide TV talk show
