1946 - FCC grants CBC license to operate WRAL-FM

1987 - WRAL-FM launches Alive After Five summer concert series

1994 - WRAL-FM airs first Radiothon for Duke Children's Hospital

1997 - WRAL-FM launches MIX 101.5 and MIX MALL web site

1997 - WRAL-FM began converting its control room to a new digital technology

1999 - WRAL-FM builds new studio

2000 - WRAL-FM becomes the first Triangle station to broadcast the NC Child Alert Notification System

2001 - WRAL-FM is awarded the National Association of Broadcasters' Crystal Award for excellence in community service

12/20/2002 - WRAL-FM became the first licensed commercial radio station on the east coast to broadcast in HD Radio

2003 - WRAL-FM joins the nation-wide AMBER Alert System

6/24/2004 - WRAL-FM's Alive After Five premieres at the American Tobacco Complex in Durham

6/27/2005 - WRAL-FM launches WRAL-HD2, NC's first commercial digital multicast radio signal.

2/15/2007 - MIX 101.5 and WCMC-FM crest the $1 million mark with the 2007 Radiothon for the Kids at Duke Children’s Hospital. The $1,004,591.99 total marked the first time MIX hit the $1 million mark in the 13 year history of the event, putting them into an exclusive nationwide club. There are only 16 stations nationwide in the $1 million category, and MIX 101.5 is by far in the smallest market of the group.
