WJZY-TV

Overview
WJZY-TV has been honored as a UPN Most Valuable Player Top 5 Affiliation and features the largest selection of movies for television in the Carolinas. It is recognized as the national leader in TV drug abuse education for children and is home to Student Television (STV), a family outreach program emphasizing education.

WJZY CW46 aims to provide an alternative to talk shows, news and tabloid magazine shows with a solid selection of fun and dramatic programs appealing to young families and adults. WJZY CW46 "serves the unserved" audience by providing a viewing alternative.

History
In 1987, WJZY-TV signed on the air as Metro-Crescent Communications, gaining a license in Belmont, NC. Later that year Capitol Broadcasting Company became its sole owner and in 1988 changed the station name to WJZY-TV. CBC obtained WJZY’s license in 2000. WJZY-TV completed its first high-definition broadcast in September 2002 with Enterprise. In 2006, the UPN and WB networks merged, creating the CW network. WJZY-TV became a CW network and began airing its programming on September 18, 2006, when the new CW Network hit the air for the first time.
