Visual Art Exchange

About Visual Art Exchange:
Visual Art Exchange (VAE) is the oldest, private, non-profit, visual arts organization in Raleigh. Formerly Wake Visual Arts, VAE has been operating for 29 years. It was the first art gallery to operate in downtown Raleigh and is a past recipient of the prestigious Raleigh Medal of Arts Award.

VAE has an integral place in the art community in Raleigh and is a key cultural offering in the City Market neighborhood and Moore Square Arts District. VAE is dedicated to providing opportunities to emerging artists and enriching the cultural environment of the community through its exhibitions and programs.

Visual Art ExchangeVAE's mission is to foster the advancement of and provide opportunities for all visual artists, particularly emerging, and to increase community awareness, appreciation, and support of North Carolina artists.

Their vision is to be the premiere resource for emerging artists in the community, and the recognized venue for connecting the community with visual artists. VAE provides unique and important exhibitions and programs for both the public and the art community.

VAE's exhibitions are open five days a week and during monthly First Friday gallery walks. Its off campus exhibit locations offer even more art exposure to the community. Most of VAE exhibitions and programs are open to non-members and members alike.
