Triangle Urban League

About the Triangle Urban League:
The Triangle Urban League, with its mission of empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream, was established in 2000.

Triangle Urban LeagueAs it enters its sixth year of existence, the Urban League is well on its way toward realizing its vision of becoming the foremost authority in the region for citizens and institutions - public, private, community-based and civic - seeking to bridge the opportunity gaps that exist between people of color and the Triangle mainstream.  In doing so, it has rapidly become one of the most recognizable names among community-based organizations in the Triangle community, particularly among African Americans.

The Urban League has earned the praise of community leaders and has established a solid reputation as an organization that delivers quality programming and principled advocacy.

The five programmatic focus areas of the Urban League are as follows:

  • Education and Youth
  • Economic Empowerment
  • Health and Quality of Life
  • Civic Engagement
  • Civil Rights and Racial Inclusion
