CBC Community Profile

Capitol Broadcasting Company believes one of our greatest responsibilities is supporting our community. CBC’s Community Profile is a new monthly feature on the Web – a way to inform our employees and the public about the work of area non-profits, and their volunteer opportunities and needs.

For January 2010, take closer look at the Triangle Impact.

Triangle Impact

About Triangle Impact:
Triangle Impact connects residents of the Triangle to rewarding volunteer opportunities with community agencies throughout the region. By developing and coordinating projects that are scheduled on nights and weekends and can be completed in just a few hours, Triangle Impact make meaningful community involvement possible for even the busiest individual.

Triangle ImpactTriangle Impact believes everyone has time to care. That's why they focus on short-term, hands on projects that make volunteering accessible, guilt-free and fun.

Through Triangle Impact, individuals have the flexibility to volunteer on their own terms, while partnering agencies can always depend on a corps of dedicated volunteers.

Triangle Impact is committed to making volunteering possible for everyone. Triangle Impact is different from other volunteer organizations because they meet the needs of modern citizens by guiding the entire service experience, beginning with recruitment, moving through project management, and finally, addressing retention and recognition.

How To Help Through Triangle Impact:
Triangle Impact offers a wide variety of direct service projects to satisfy the needs of the community and the interests of our volunteers. Their projects range from helping the homeless to cleaning up the environment to sorting food and clothing to working with seniors. Triangle Impact encourages you to get involved, and if you don't see a project that meets your needs or interests, please contact them.

Triangle Impact Project CalendarHow can you volunteer for a project?
Check out Triangle Impact's Project Calendar page and register an account up to get involved. When you see a project that interests you, just click the "Sign Up" button to let them know you're interested in participating in a specific event. A Project Leader will send you detailed information about the project and will meet you the day of the project at the event site. It's that easy!

Certain projects may begin with a short training or orientation. For example, the first 10 minutes of a project might include a "how-to" session for the activity. Otherwise, there is no training or orientation needed for Triangle Impact volunteers.

You must pre-register to attend an event. So check out the Triangle Impact calendar today!
