CBC Community Profile

Capitol Broadcasting Company believes one of our greatest responsibilities is supporting our community. CBC’s Community Profile is a monthly feature on the Web – a way to inform our employees and the public about the work of area non-profits, and their volunteer opportunities and needs.

For February 2008, take closer look at the Triangle BoardConnect.

Triangle BoardConnect

About Triangle BoardConnect:
Triangle Board Connect (TBC) is a free online service which matches nonprofit boards with potential board members.

Utilizing the effective Internet website of boardnetUSA, TBC makes it possible:

  • For nonprofit organizations to search for potential board members with needed skills, experience and affiliations
  • For individuals who are interested in serving on a nonprofit board or committee. The process is anonymous until they decide to share their contact information with the nonprofit organization.

Capitol Broadcasting Company encourages leadership participation in one of the many diverse nonprofit organizations in our community. Such participation not only strengthens our community, but it also refines your leadership skills.

How To Use Triangle BoardConnect:
Nonprofits that have a June 30 year end are going to begin thinking about recruiting new board members in the next few months. Now is therefore the time to for those who have an interest in finding an appropriate nonprofit board to serve on to register with Triangle BoardConnect.

Triangle BoardConnectVisit Triangle BoardConnect online to register your profile, including your skills and interests regarding board service. You can then review the profiles of several nonprofits to determine if any match your interests. Nonprofits may also contact you, if your skills and interests match their needs.

TBC has developed GUIDES to assist you in the process of completing your profile, navigating boardnetUSA, and keys to success.

If you are already on a nonprofit board, consider using this program to network to attract new board members.

QUESTIONS:
If you have questions, contact Ed Rose, the volunteer director of the program, at 919-969-1667 or at tbc@mindspring.com
