About the Rex Angel Fund:
The Rex Angel Fund serves Rex Healthcare cancer patients with unique financial needs (including transportation, living expenses and prescriptions) as they cope with the hardships associated with their treatment. The program fills gaps where other services are not available. This fund also helps provide accessories like free wigs, scarves, prosthesis, bras, tote bags, pillows and lap quilts for patients coping with cancer.

The Rex Angel Fund doesn’t pay for treatment, but assists with incidentals ranging from help to pay for gas to get to and from treatments to aid with rent to support with the cost of prescriptions.

angelThe Angel Fund was established in 2002 with a grant through the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  The goal of the program includes increaased access to treatment related needs and improved quality of life.

Gintas Abarius, a concert pianist and music director, who received assistance from the Rex Angel Fund summed up his experience by saying, “What I learned is that there is no death for hope.  I am a living witness to a loving community.”

The past year has seen many cancer diagnoses. That coupled with the economy being down has created a great need than ever for the Rex Angel Fund. Donations are also now needed more than ever. 100% of your donations go directly to the organization to help cancer patients.

Le Tour de FemmeRIDE YOUR BIKE
Each year the charitable bike race, Le Tour de Femme, brings women from all over the country together to fight cancer. The Rex Angel Fund benefits from the race each year. The sixth installment of the ride will take place on Oct 8, 2011, in Cary, NC.

Le Tour de Femme has raised over $102,000 for the Rex Angel Fund over the years.
